Cir. Supt. Batesville Ark.

Dear Sir:

I learn from this office of the Am. Miss. Assocn in Chicago that Miss M.A. Cummings has been assigned to Batesville and will occupy the Gov't School house as teacher of the colored school, taking the place of Miss Hand. She is said to be experienced in teaching freedmen. I bespeak for her the same courtesy that was last year, so kindly extended to Miss Hand.

Very truly Yours,
Wm M Colby
