Dear Sir:-
Your communication of the 28th relating to a letter recid  at your office from B. J. McClelland, teacher at Louisville is received. While I sincerely regret the necessity that called forth your letter, you have my thanks for the courtesy shown this office. I entirely agree with you as to the character of the language used by Mr. M. & fully endorse your action in the premises. I can not doubt that a another apology from the young man will be forthcoming. 
The Am. Miss. Association expects its teachers to be not only good teachers, but also to manifest at all times the characteristics of Christian ladies and gentlemen.
I shall lay your communication before an agent of the association who happened to be at that time in the state.
