Yours of Feb'y 28th & enclosures rec'd. Glad you are still pleasantly & profitably at work and that you do not forget to keep me advised of your situation. Do you find any intemperance among the freemen? if so what do you do about it? Are they ambitious to improve their finances or are they lavish & [[?]]?
Miss Jarvis is at our Bureau - She reports regularly but does not write.
I presume Mr. Stricklin now the schoolhouse and that you are without blackboard & Primary Charts. We will pay [[?]], or the trustee of the Dist. owns the house, ten dollars a month [[strikethrough]]for[[strikethrough]] sent for the house for a few months deducting from the first payment of the rent the price of blackboard & charts which will be sent.  I enclose vouchers herewith - Please have the receipts signed & returned at once.
