John Smith.
Charges. Burglary.

Specification; that said Joseph Syer, Enoch Edward Willis Wheatherly Squire, Wood James and John Smith did on the night of the 13th day Nov. 1865 - brake into the house of Robert Guinn (Freedmen) and threaten his Life also put a rope around his neck and choke him untill the said Robert Guinn told them he would show them the money which they found and stole. they also stole a Gun cloths and other articles

In this the said Parties above named did on the same night go to the house of Dick wright (colored) and broke into his house threating his Life and struck him on the head with a gun badly injuring him,   This near Reidsville. County of Rockingham State of North Carolina one night of the 13th day of Nov. 1865-
