Stroughton March 8th 1939
Dear Folks
We are having it cold since it cleared, it is below 20° yesterday it blew a gale all day it blew by dish pan away off the doorstep & landed over to the new hous in front of their steps & Addie brought it home. it was not good for much but it answered our purpose very well & was glad to have it back. then it took our clothes pin back & scattered the clothes pins all over the yard & blew the bag away under the bush. We were glad when the wind went down after dark it brought use cold weather & that we did'n't just like. however we shall be glad when spring arrives & are thankful no snow came to cover the ground.
I am glad your folks are over their lameness. we don't approve of leaving little Doris alone at night, she is nervous. I know how it is & thats the reason so we have the care & are waiting for the folks to come home not afraid really. I am not alone nights but very little & dont mind day times. for then I can be quiet & do as I am a mind to. it is now warming up & thats good.
