Dear Folks

Today is a cold stormy day the wind in the NW & rain freezes as it falls, so it makes it very dangerous for walking. yesterday was ideal & seemed like spring. a family moved into the house opposite, in the tenement on the side of the stand pipe hill. today I guess they will wish they had taken the other side. the little attic girl came over with her baby & she knew nothing of these tenements coming. she says the rent is $22. apiece & she pays $12. a month. but they are looking for another place to live. no one stays long it is a cold house. McKay is discouraged he has lost so much on his rent. he says that Stanley is nothing but a "bum", his daughters husband. he never ammounted [[amounted]] to much I guess. those three little children are being brought up by outsiders. a pity they were ever born. one George Frank named for his two grandparents was a dear, he was his mothers favorite & young as he was he felt his loss, when the mother died. the girl never missed her mother she was hard hearted. she is made every thing of & brought up by the grand parents & spoilt [[spoiled]]
