Dear Folks

Today we are having all kinds of weather this morning it was a fine storm & freezing underfoot as fast as it came, then it hailed, then snowed & now the sun is out.

Mrs B went to morning church Ash Wednesday the beginning of Lent, she rode home with Mary McGarvey. Alice was there & the church was packed. she has been working there for a week so she told her, a class of forty (mission work.) I suppose she must get payed for it, propably [[probably]] Percy got it for her, he is a devout church man but Alice seldom goes.

Alice had a wonderful time at my birth day Sunday. Mrs Williams told Mrs Barry. she said "Aunt Lou looked fine" & said she was proud of her. this Mrs Williams is very rich & helps Alice and Lucy a lot, often pays their rent. she was a Reynolds of Canton. her father had lots of property there. she does lots of good where people are poor. since her husband went away on his job she bought the next house to Ralphs & means to help Maude if she can for she pities her, but has no use for Henrys wife. she has heard her talk to Maude when she took the childrens [[children's]] part & had hard work not to interfere.
