Stoughton February 16th 1939

Dear Folks,

The sun at last, it was all kinds of weather yesterday thunder storms. pouring rain + snow during the night the snow came after the rain had cleared the ground of most of the stuff. so it seems we are not to be clear of it just enough to cause icy going. darn the stuff.

They worked on the stand pipe hill all the forenoon. but gave it up at noon on account of the rain, after the thunder it never rained harder the only consolation I had about it, I was thankful I had a good roof over my head & a firm chimney.

I read Lenas card you sent. it was a good slap in the face to you all right, she dont want any body to question her affairs the least mite, one would think she had money perhaps she has, goodness I hope so, she likes to form new acquaintances. I hope she keeps them & learnes a little of their truth so not to hug disease to her so much & be always a doctoring for every little thing, if one does that they always have it. the more you deny your ailments the better. & not fear sickness that will bring on quicker than anything
