we both pity her for we think she is not treated kindly by her husband & his mother & she is worth more than either one of them & so unselfish. I dislike the old woman & hate to see her come into the house. "butter wont melt in her mouth" guess she feels the same towards me so theres no love lost between us. 

We had a good dinner steak & potatoes, boiled unions, and strawberries for desert. they were nice & ripe & only. 18 cents a bop. not a poor one amongst them. she said they were a surprise & they tasted good. what we get from [[Perdigoes?]] market is always fine & they never try to put any thing over on us. by bringing more than we order.

It is black out in the west & growing dark. I have just remarked it looks like a thunder shower hark! thats thunder! its too dark to see! the ground was bare a minute ago. now see the snow came down in great clouds, now everything is covered white with snow & the temperature has changed, windows are all steamed up. I never saw any thing like it before. the paper said much colder to night. its here. winter has come in a minutes time. glad I have a roof over my head. hope you are free such weather as this. now in a few minutes time the sun is shining it has cleared off pleasant. so sudden just a light covering of snow thats all Ma.
