Stoughton January 12th 1939

Dear Folks
 
We are having little cooler weather but no doubt the snow will come next. snow flurries were predicted for last night but it didnt come & to day it is very sunny.

Lena has at last got started for Florida Lottie said a large trunk went yesterday & early this morning she departed bag & baggage & she opened her door & said good bye to her. then called me up & told me about it. I should thought Lena would told us at the last minute but she didnt, we may hear from her later she has no plans as we know, what she will do after she gets down there, she is heartily sick of this place I guess. it does'nt take her long to get so.

I suppose Maude is living down to Edith the old Britton house. but her old place they say is in a terrible condition. the baby carriage still stands on the piazza & their house is flodded & nothing so far has been done. a bottle in the pantry window has burst & a large bag of sugar that stands beside it is soaked with its
