Stoughton Nov 16th 1938

Dear Folks, 

Well this morning when we awoke we found the ground covered with quite a heavy coating of snow so that when I went to empty my ashes I was obliged to sweep off my steps before going out it is fast dissapearing with this bright sun. it has been quite cool all the week. 
     
I am glad the bundle arrived safe & the dresses were satisfactory all but in length, it is hard to know how long to [[strikethrough]] get [[/strikethrough]] get them without trying on.
 
Bert Winslow & Mary Holmes got home from their wedding trip Sunday after being gone two weeks. they went on a fruit steamer, they were the only passengers & he expected to get home in time to vote & was fit to tie, when he found out they were taking an extended course up the Pacific coast. Charlotte Ayers is going to do their work & they are living at Marys apartments & she will continue her work at the hard ware store in Canton. her brother died & they tried to sell out, but no one wanted to buy. 

Careta is still ailing & her doctor wants her to go to the hospital for observation, he dont know what ails
