an only child is most always spoilt. they are surely nice people & deserve a better fate.
    
A car full of folks came armistice day to look at the empty tenement when the Darlings moved out. I hope McCay will be lucky enough to let it before winter, as November is a bad month to find a tenant. they have lost a lot of rent on that house.
    
Mamie Kate is going to spend the winter down to Mrs Barrys sisters, she lives in New York. they are coming after her. she thinks more of her than of any body else. they cater to Mamie always. she lost her husband over a year ago. & has plenty of money. Mamie is still thick with Channie & Maude Capen. & Elizabeth Southworth. who is an old German if there ever was one. did you ever hear from Shorer? hope she ends her days in Germany. she earned her money over here like a good many other Germans. but after all they think their own country the best. they ought to be sent home there to live. how would we fare in their country? we take in too many of them. I am glad if you got the package safe that I sent the first of the week. hope they fit & are all satisfactory Mrs Barry sent the pin that seemed to match the dress so well. Ma
