Stoughton Nov 4th 1938

Dear Folks

It is Friday morning & pleasant & not so cold we in fact have not had but one hard frost & that was Wednesday morning we got up & found the ground covered over with a white frost but it went away as soon as
the sun came up & warmed right up so far it has been a remarkable fall. I never remember when the weather has been so wild throug [[through]] October + into November hope it continues.

Kimptis is about through on the roof he is leaving around the chimney untill [[until]] Barrara comes to do that Saturday. hope the day will be clear Sidney spoke of the tree in back of the little building there are three of them still standing but he would willingly take them down. he is very gready [[greedy]] for the wood, but the whole grove would satisfy I suppose. theres [[there's]] a limit I should think.

Mrs Welch has the worst looking place in the neighborhood but she thinks they will clear it up for the wood but guess she will find if they
