Stoughton October 12th 1938

Dear Folks

This is a very lovely day we have not been having frosts yet, today is as balmy as any summers day. Mrs. Barry has just put out my chair so that I can sit out and & enjoy the sunshine & air.

Carrara has just been here to see me about the trees, altogether they cost us fifty five dollars, after he cleans up & burns the branches. he is a good worker & very strong & muscular, where he can lift the big logs above, it would have taken two ordinary men to do the work & he is quick. I feel we were lucky & I never had to go after him, came & offered to do the job. where others are waiting & lots of people cant get anybody to do their work. Mrs Barry tried to beat him down & even asked Bill last night about it & he said if we could get it done for that, we were lucky. he has good judgment where work is conserned [[concerned]]. I am sorry & have worried about it so its been impossible for me to sleep nights but this weather is very favorable to have the work done. After a heavy rain we have a permit to burn the
