Stoughton September 11th 1938

Dear Folks

We are having very pleasant sunny days since our freezing days through the greater part-parts of last week it seems good to come back to more comfortable days that one can sit out on the piazza with out being chilly. I have been taking in my house plants so to be on hand in case of colder nights.

My piazza is very handy to get them used to the change before bringing them into the house. Laura's plants are still here she is getting along slowly. we are in hopes she will get over it in time but fear she will never be all right, as there has always been something the matter with her & one never gets over such an operation when it comes at her time of life.

Lena came up last night she seemed like her old self. Theodore wanted her to come & meet them John Hollis had come from Germany, they were to meet him at Brooklins but she didnt feel equal to the journey. since Theodore has been away this
