Stoughton July 20th 1938

Dear Folks

We have'nt [[haven't]] had the sun for 3 day thunder showers have prevailed. it now looks some like clearing, hope it does, our clothes have been on the line the whole week & theres [[there's]] water in the cellar.  

I hope you dont have this dampness. fog is intense. we called up Mrs Legg to find out about Lena, she said she was going every day to see Dr Caffry and he had done wonders for her. everybody speaks well of him. he is a graduate doctor, but through an explosion was made blind & is an osteopath, he cures by his hands & is a wonder. Careta goes to him. he was the doctor who looked at Maudes house soon after Ralph died, but is glad he took the old Jesse Holmes house instead, as it is right on the road to Brockton & he has lots of patients who come from there. He is very popular here in town.

Anna was here yesterday she says that Maude & Henry are in the house where they are living apparently now beside her. we dont understand it some how we though [[thought]] they were going to live down in "Aunt Sallies
