lane". where they bought the house a truck load of furniture went to Ralphs house & Anna said the grounds looked terrible. covered with leaves & long grass that had'nt been moved & Henry did'nt seem to do any thing but loaf around 'till after ten O'clock mornings. his business did not seem to fiit him much. she has no use for him but guess she knows him pretty well.

as Mrs Barry is going to Brockton right after dinner with Amy & Careta, I thought of sending this letter along with her. she was greatly interested in that old Monroe house you sent as it belonged to her ancestors Colonel John Albert Monroe was her father & James Monroe was his uncle this building looked very familiar to her & was interesting to know also your friends occupy it. It seems good to know you are getting so much pleasure out of your painting & the making of so many new acquaintances there. You have an object in life (a hobbie) and so have the others & they dont seem to interfere with each other. so take comfort there in. there is not much in life one can, so that is that. its cool here the rain seems to have made a change & broken over that hot spell. for the time being. Ma

hope you are being cool also.
