so they were looking for them to arrive all that time. guess they thought it queer they got lost in the many times she had been there. but she had never walked it before & said "no nor will I ever walk again so after resting two hours the nephew took them to Brockton as he was going that place with a friend & then they went to a movie and got home around eight O'clock. meanwhile they called up from Alices [[Alice's]] to get her three different ones. that Lynch & party from Maynard were over & the Glennon girls, Joe Kelley & the Williams crowd all Irish they wanted her to come down to entertain them, she finally arrived in time to answer their last call tired out & knew enough to refuse. they all were anxious, but she told them she was too tired & being fourth of July night, she would not think of leaving me alone, with all that racket going on, so that ended her birthday celebration rather strenuous if you ask me.

I am writing this in a hurry so she can take it along in time to put in the Post Office when she goes down to the movies.  

I was glad you all enjoyed the holiday & her birth day. it was a very quiet day here & cool with not many fire crackers snapping around. in "brownies" neighborhood it was noisy so he has got in the habit of coming up here he is blind one eye & stayed on our porch all night the night before the 4th. he comes up here every day now. poor dog, no one wants us when we get old, so I pity him.
