Gladys says her mother has decided to apply for old age pension at Matties, well she is eligible she must be around Myrties age. but she said no she is much older she had found out since this pension business was mentioned that her mother was born in 1859. so you see she is older than we thought, not so far from my age. Arthur & I were born in '55. Mrs Barry says she looks it, all bent over & lame. Gladys says dont mention in, keep it under your hat. we like her, she is sensible & would make a man a good wife, she can do anything ingenious like her father. but most of them want the frivolous kind. I gave her a boquet of roses she is very fond of flowers. she looked pretty yesterday, they took a trip up to Vermont through the old haunts they always loved it, such scenery, so pleasant in summer & Gladys said that Mildred was very big, enormous, she always was. loves sweets, easy going, I hope her big family may ammount to something sometime. but no one can tell, it takes ambition to pull through these times, no business, not much to look forward to.
