parkway & around by the old neighborhood, they noticed the gift shop at our old place as something new (the old shop) that may be a success. Mrs Barry told them of the scheme so they have tried it out, hope it proves a success. they dont seem to sell the place, but Mrs. Harrington means to keep it up. & they came this spring to dress over the tablet on the rock so that shows they take an interest in the "shrine," but are waiting to get it for nothing. its a great pity Mrs. Longyear had to die. she would have bought the place & the picture also. on her last visit here, she tried to find the place after I had directed her man who drove the auto, but he failed to find it. being in a hurry they had to get back & missed it.

We have one little baby squirrel, he is alone it seems & runs up the tree over the porch, very tame & makes a great deal of noise mornings on the roof. sometimes he is climbing the screens. he is so tame the cats may catch him, guess yours would mighty quick.

Helen Metcalf stepped off the side walk in front of Campbells drug store, while waiting for a car to ride home & dislocated her hip. they took her to a hospital & there you are. that ends her liberty in this life. lucky she has money. she is 79 years old. we never know when we are safe in this world. old or young. kidnapping seems the worse thing these times not much to look forward to.
