Stoughton June 2nd 1938

Dear Folks

A cold but sunny day. I am feeling comfortable in wearing my sweater. yesterday was more seasonable weather. we are cleaning the North chamber, I took down the curtain & washed it. then by turning it managed to get it up again & it looks all right. it had been up two years or more. the worst is putting it back its no easy job. in my room that goes back easy.

Mr & Mrs Cressy are going to live in Evelyn Drakes tenement, up stairs where the Codys moved out he is the retired minisister uncle to Myrte Hill who lives in the Pinnamin house & he is over eighty & ever since he was so sick, has been living with his nephew. he has just got so he can go up stairs & their rent begins from the first of this month.

We hear that the old Beals house is going to be sold for a hospital. Adalaid Butler lives there now. it may not be so. it will be hard if they have to move again, for it is so expensive & they are poor & have already moved twice. the Welch place looks like the devil. all grown up to gross. she would like to sell
