Forwards school blank No. 5, and states that nothing hitherto gained in the school work should be lost, but on the contrary efforts should be made to increase the number of schools and especially to carry the work into destitute regions. No school should be discontinued while patrons of any kind can be secured. 
Aid Association will continue to furnish teachers, and they should have all facilities it is possible for the Bureau to give. The Commissioner desires to cooperate heartily with these associations as heretofore.
The importance of this educational work, not only in its relations to humanity and general intelligence, but to public prosperity, should be urged upon state officials, etc. etc. |
