Dear Sir.

Yours of the 15th inst is before me. I am pleased to know that you are taking steps to establish Schools here & will do all in my power to forward the cause of education. I have written the commissions North and have brought the matter before Genl Sprague 

I have made arrangements to secure Some buildings for School rooms as soon as the troops are removed. (which will probably be some time next month) and your kind offer releives me of any further efforts to secure teachers I will write you again as soon as my plan matures write again. I would be pleased to hear from you often relative to the success of our cause. Remember me kindly to Mr. Mrs. & Miss Moore
