Mr William Colby
General Supt of Schools for the State of Ark

Sir

I have the honor to request if consistent with the interest of the Education Bureau of the State. that you do me the special kindness to relieve the Rev. Mr. Millard who is supposed to have been engaged in teaching school at this place for the last three months. But having occasion to visit the schools in the city the other morning as requested by you, I found the Rev Mr Millards School to consist of one student. a maiden "Freedwoman" unusually handsome. less than nineteen summers- and less fragrant than the southern Magnolia handsomely adorned with white cotton hose- quietly luxurating on the Rev Mr Millard's bed, with the dignity of a Hottentot Queen I am satisfied he is as little qualified to teach school as he is to preach Christ and him crucified

He has done nothing but trouble me. and has lately interfered with my duties- please relieve him

I have the honor to be very
respectfully your Obt Servt
