Dear Sir
Your letter of Oct 17th to Lt G - in regard to teachers, is received.
I am sick abed not having been up for a couple of days and consequently am not of much account, but you may safely rely on my heart cooperation and sympathy in all matters relating to schools among the blacks. I understand Mr Byers is now teaching in his old place and came to this office before I did, to get blacks to report to you. I will see who has custody of the building as soon as I can do anything, and make arrangements for the furtherance of your wishes. in the mean time would be pleased to hear from you.

Very truly yours
Maj Dawes
