ISAAC P. EVANS Treasurer. TIMOTHY HARRISON, Secretary.
OFFICE OF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF INDIANA YEARLY MEETING OF FRIENDS,
FOR THE RELIEF OF FREEDMEN.
Richmond. Ind. 11 mo. 6 1866
Lieut. W. M. Colby Supt. Freedman Schools
Dear Friends
We gather from the remarks of our agent E. M. Butler that you are not satisfied with Leah P. Bogue as a Teacher -
We sent her down to take charge of a plantation school on her own responsibility and did not understand that there was any objection to her as a teacher but only that her manners were not agreeable to the other teachers- If we had understood that she was not successful as a teacher we should not have sent her into the field and we shall willingly do anything that may be thought best in her case, but we should be glad if she could be put on a plantation farm where she could pay her way. Please write and state what you think best in the case
I remain
Sincerely
Timothy Harrison
