Sir, In visiting the schools now in operation here, I am convinced that another teacher or perhaps two others could be profitably employed in this city. Another school ought to be started in Gen. Roan's plantation, opposite the city, he is willing to provide a school room, but he has not accommodations for a teacher.

Now what we want is a suitable building for a teachers home, our teachers at present are risking health and sacrificing comfort by living in a rough, shanty with a colored family of four persons
