FOR ARKANSAS AND INDIAN TERRITORY,
Office of Assistant Commissioner,
Little Rock, Ark., Feby. 10. 1867.

Mr Wm M Colby.
Genl Supt Schools

Sir:
I am directed by the Assistant Commissioner to furnish you with the following extract from the report of Lieut. H. S. Dyer. Superintendent at Jacksonport for January 1867, and to direct you to under what assistance you can toward directing the efforts of the colored people to a successful result.

A list of names has been handed to me in which the parties represent one hundred dollars for school purposes and I can assured that more can be raised for that object. I shall take steps to have a school house erected as soon as possible in the most convenient locality that can be obtained.
