Dear PM:

I have yours of 26th ult concerning the teachers Casey, Wright, Hare & Hazeldine. These were received by us upon undoubted credentials, and some investigation. We are not ready to believe that they are dishonest men. Mr. Hazeldine represented himself to me as of "noble extraction" &c". So exactly how great deception one may resort when in great danger, it is difficult to say.

I hope the ill stories about these, are somewhat exaggerated, and am confirmed - somewhat - in that hope by rec't of an excellent letter from Mr. Casey in which he represents all of them located and at work.

We do not doubt the probability of payments by Mr. Wright to Adams & Co, as well as the adjustments of Mr. Stuarts ofc.

Very Respectfully &c
J.R. Shipherd (pr Sabin)

Transcription Notes:
The first line of the letter, was hard to figure out what looks like "26 ult" The grammar seems off to be in the 2nd paragraph, but it might be correct for the time. The closing signature, am not sure I got the items in the parenthesis.
