Rev. Mr. Mallory (Methodist minister of this place) Maj E. S. Ham (US District Atty) & William Loving (Judge 8" Judicial Circuit). As you have not been able to see Col Gn LaRue Harrison in regard to the house formerly owned by the colored people but understand that he is willing to pay whatever it may be reasonably worth provided he can do so with safety-to -himself and to the parties identified. I suppose he would willingly pay the money with the lands of the trustees elect provided the Commissioner of the Bureau should direct it to be approved and paid over to these trustees. The original trustees are either dead or have left the state Has the commissioner authority to make this order?
I should have stated that the more intelligent Freedmen tell us that there are as many more children in the country near here as have already given in their names. Please let us hear from you in regard to what the Bureau can do for us.
Im sorry to write to you in so hasty a manner & will write more fully soon.
Respey Yours
W. Stone
