States that he is anxious to establish a school on his place, 25 miles below Pine Bluff;  will give the timber for a school house;  and his laborers will do most of the work.

Asks an appropriation of $100. from the Bureau to buy nails, windows, doors &c.

Respectfully forwarded to Wm M Colby Supt Education Ark with the recommendation that the amt solicited be granted.

There are one hundred Freedmen employed by Gen. Clayton, and there will be no less than fifty pupils in regular attendance in school

When crop planted the school will be entirely self sustaining
