Wm Colby  

I sent my self to let you know that I am well and doing well at present.  I am teaching school and has been for a month, havent any troubel at the present. I am in hope that this few lines may find you well.  I teach eight hours a day. I think tha air Lerning fast and tha minds me very well.  I trys to teach thim the best that I can. I have a very strict ruls in school. too rescess in a day.  Mr Colby pleas write to me tell me sumthing of life. Let me know what is going on in Little Rock. Tell me where is Mr Milley. tell him he must write to me. I feel lik seen him, he must com and see the school. I tell the Children abought the Superintendent of the Schools Agent if you please send me a few Sabbath School Papers to give thim. Some of the People up here is very hard to understand.

I did not tell you that I had to waite at the Bluff tell the next Thursday. I went to work and I got here safe   no more at present. your devoted servant. Thomas Nowell.
