In reply to your communication of 11th inst, I have the honor to report hat the site purchased by the freedman has been taken as a church site.  The Lumber has been contribute by citizens.

There is very little little interest among the people here for a school in fact thus far it has barely paid the board of Mr. Hare (the teacher) and owing to the failure in crops freedmen will not be able to pay for the tuition of there children, there is unpward of One Hundred dollars
