Mr. W.M Colby
State Superintendent Col'd Schools.
Little Rock, Arkansas.

Sir

Having seen in the columns of the Memphis Post of Sept. 19" 1867, that there is still a demand for teachers in Arkansas, I would respectfully ask upon what terms are the teachers of said schools employed the length of school term, salary &c.

I have been teaching for more five years in this state and Ohio together, and I am as present engaged in teaching as this place as Principal of the "Eddington School". I hold a Certificate from the Superintendent of Bucks Co. Penna. also a certificate from the Board of Control of the Public Schools of Philadelphia.

I was in the Union Army during a greater part of the war in command of "Battery L" 3 US. Heavy Arty. Col'd.

Hoping that I may receive a favorable consideration.

I have the Honor to be Very Respectfully
Your Obd't Servt.
