Walker's six miles from Paraclifta, here we spent the night and learned that Mr Steele had moved that day. (Mrs W. as sister of Mrs S.) therefore we did not go to Paraclifta. Our driver told us if we (Miss G. & myself) would consent to separate there, it would save several miles of very bad traveling.
We bid adieu at this place, but it seemed like parting sisters, Miss Getman promised to write me very soon, after her arrival in Rocky Comfort, but I have not yet heard from her.
I arrived here Feb 5th and should have written you at once if I had known where my school was to be located. Judge Coulter was absent, either his wife or son could not tell positively, what my services would be needed on either plantation.
