As they are not able to take any steps towards building the house I hardly know what course is is necessary for me to pursue in order to have a building erected or what kind of house you would desire to have erected when the entire [[?]] is paid by the Government.
I have drawn a plan which I enclose herewith for your consideration.
There are carpenters here who would probably enter into a contract to build and finish a house on this plan for $800 payment to be made in installments as the work progresses. Should you deem such a house too expensive or not approve of the plan, I would respectfully request further instructions as to what course should be pursued to attain an appropriation to build as soon as possible.
This place will support a day school of about 40 regular & cho[[?]] and about 25 scholars to a night school In addition to this number, several freedmen living in different parts.
