Orphan Asylum Near Helena Ark
March 24, 1868
Mr. W.M. Colby,
Little Rock.
Dear Sir.
Yours of the 12 inst came to hand a few days since. We have written up on Orthography and Mental Arithmetic. The work was executed according to your instructions.
I took the papers left with me to the teachers in Helena on Saturday following the day you left here. I also took those on Orthography and Mental Arithmetic last Saturday but circumstances were such that they did not write up on any of them. I left the papers in charge of Mrs. Rogers for them to write up as soon as convenient, they said they would write to you and explain. I will see that your papers are returned as soon as they get through with them. We have not yet organized the temperance society
