I am in reciept of information by C Clark of their dissatisfaction at the closing the schools at Helena in 5 month and requiring that the school be continued untill 26th of June or that we should probably be deprived of the use of that house next fall &c -
Our committee directs me to apologise for this want of consultation with the Supt of Education. As I & E Edwards the teachers of that school, are persons with whom we are well acquainted, and we have every reason to believe have laboured faithfully, and are efficient and sucessfull teachers, consequently we have submitted much, to their judgement, they corresponded with us or the prospects of closing their school in 5 month giving their reasons &c which we thought reasonable and we feel that it is of great importanse, that every available man and child who are able should be urged to the utmost industry this season to raise themselves above the
