FOR THE RELIEF OF FREEDMEN.

dependent and suffering condition they have been in - and consented for them to close their schools on the 1st of 5th month or when they might think most suitable-
We regret that any dissatisfaction should occur - C Clark also budgeted that the school at the assylum should close for a time during cotton planting and we fully approved of such course -
I am desired to request a few lines informing us, wether we shall be deprived of the use of the school house at Helena, next fall or not on the above acct. we are anticipating considerable reduction, of the amt of funds appropriated to aid the Freedmen during the coming year, but it will be our preference to continue to aid the Freedmen as the same schools as heretofore if it is admissible.

Respectfully,
Joseph Dickinson
