Office Agent B.R.F and A.L
for Yell County and adjacent County
Dardanelle Ark. May 11th 1868

Wm M Colby
Superintendent of Education,

Sir —
I have partly succeeded in establishing a School, and Securing the Services of a teacher, on one of the adjacent plantations to this place. As stated in my monthly report, the Freedmen are poor, very poor, and any assistance that you can render the School will be thankfully and gratefully received

There will be at least forty (40) pupils in attendance; they need Spelling Books first and Second Readers and I write to Know, if you can furnish them. If so, you will please forward them at an early date.

I am Sir
Very Respectfully
Your obt Servt.
