For and in consideration of the sum of one Dollar to me in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged I do hereby. (as guardian of Andrew C Gilbert) give grants and donate to John Evans. Nelson Dunlap Abraham Walls. Simon Russell and Moses Hodges. - as trustees for the use and benefit of the colored people of this County for the purpose of Building a Church and a school house for their exclusive use and benefit. The following described town lots in the town of Marion- To Wit  One Hundred and twelve feet square fronting on the lake and adjoining the lots now occupied by Riley. The said lots are to be laid off by me and delivered at any time that said trustees may desire- But it is expressly understood that the said property shall be used only as a place for church and school purposes and the same cannot be used as a burial ground for the dead or for any other except the purposes above expressed. To have and to hold the above granted premises unto them the said trustees for the uses. aforesaid and unto their successors in office forever- and I bind myself as guardian as aforesaid to warrant
