Dear sir: The colored people of this town have after much exertion succeeded in procuring two excellent lots for a school house. There appears to be some delay in executing the deed by reason of the temporary absence of one of the parties granitor. The deed in certain to be forthcoming. Fearing the appropriation, may be exhausted before the tille is perfected. I write to beg you, in behalf of the colored people here to set aside such an amount. as would be allotted if the deed were already in your hands. If a more formal application for funds be required. will you please inform me that I may leave nothing undone on my part
