This letter of the 2nd was rec a on the 8th contents noted - In the absence of information we had made arrangements with four teachers to leave here on the 24th, so as to commense school on the first Monday in [[strikethrough]] Sept [[/strikethrough]] Oct EM Batter declined returning, and only one of the former teachers returns, PE Jones, we have engaged John N Benford as principal teacher he has had a good training at this South Western Normal School and also had some experiense in teaching and feels much interest in the undertaking the other two Ladies are Anna Wiles & Louisa Collin both teachers of some experiense and considerable energy we bespeak for them this kind interest and support - The Box of school Books I expected to be sent from Lauderdale may not come at all this agent may conclude to buy them he will write to thee if he sends them
