Wm M. Colby,

Dear Sir:

We have no anti-tobacco clause in our Temp. pledge. Shall have as soon as possible. We also need an anti-snuff clause. Most all the female scholars are using it.

You will perceive by my enclosed Report that all the pupils does not pay the 50 cts tuition. We have several faithless and orphan children attending, most of whom had had a [[underline]] good start [[/underline]] and I had not the heart to refuse them admittance.

Yours Truly &c
