Dear Sir
On the request of leading union citizens here, I write to solicit your aid in securing a teacher for a colored school at this place. I will guarantee Sixty Dollars per month and board. A male is preferred but if one possessing suitable qualifications can not be had a female teacher would be acceptable on the same rates. I am desired to say that the Union citizens will do everything in their power to render the stay of a teacher in their midst both pleasant and agreeable, and further that after a three month school has been taught if satisfactory to parties, our arrangement for a long time should be cheerfully entered into [[?]] giving permancey to the situation. I think a good teacher would be well treated here.
Please correspond with R. L. Archer Esq of this place upon the subject you will find him a prompt and reliable gentleman
I Remain
Yours Truly
H A Millen
