Dear Sir,
A little over one week ago I succeeded in securing a Teacher for the Colored School here, and as the colored population is sparsely settled here through the country, I think it just that all who can come from the country should be accomodated at this school — hence I am compelled to rent the second House & hire an assistant Teacher. We are too poor to incur so much expense, & the object of this letter is to know if you have any means of releiving us so far as the rent is concerned. You may
