Little Rock, Ark,

Dear Sir

I had a disagreeable trip from Little Rock, a chill coming on the day after I left; the car I was in broke down, the shock of which increased the effect of the fever that had by that time set in. I have, since then, several attacks of chills and rheumatism, I think the latter will not trouble me when I am again in Arkansas. I expect to be back in time to secure a school for the coming year.

Enclosed one three dollars ($3.00) Little Rock City Bonds; will you have the kindness to change them for [[?]], currency (at whatever discount required of course) and remit to my address with the amount allowed for rent of schoolhouse, (16th School Dist.,) for July and oblige?

Please give my respects to your family and Drs Thos. Smith and Christman.

Respectfully
Your obe't serv't
