Our Northern Enemies of this vicinity and Helena are fast caving in" and are bringing in for the "fruits meet for repentance" by calling on us and contributing money towards our new Bell. But not precluding the "State Super" from a donation at all. Our friend, Thomas returns home via Miss. Tenn. N.C. & Va. arriving there in time for the meeting of the "Missionary Board" last of this month. He felt indignant over the situation of correspondence between our Sec. and Bureau Super of Schools &c.  Will endeavor to straighten out things & set the machine rolling more rapidly & extending information throughout the North among our people which he says is very meager.  We expect a Revival there from him after he returns.  Mr Dixon went with him from here, which was a move in the right direction.  He is a goodly young man largely imbued with the missionary Spirit, needing to gather all the general information & knowledge that he can.  Please excuse my Calvin he is head & ears in their saw mill preparing lumber for [[overwritten]] Feb. 7 1870 [[/overwritten]] improvements here.  His & my regards to yourself & family.
