tax.  There has been no provision for desks & other necessary furniture therefor.  And I cannot say whether the majority of voters will, at our next annal meeting, vote a sufficient tax to purchase more than seats & a stove, as the prejudice is strong against educating the Col'd people.
There is a feeling to break up the school because there are not 15 schollars attending, & it will not pay to hire a teacher at $40.00 per month for less than 20 scholars.
I do not know the law on this point.  I send his first monthly report & my vouchers.
