Richmond July 5 1870

Wm M Colby Supt of Edn &c&c&c

The letter of June 24 is received and content noted as to the report of one leasing the school property to the School Board there is no truth about it such an idea has not been suggested to us. All that the Board is expecting of us so far as I know is to furnish teachers We have engaged Franklin Elliott to superintend and teach there the coming year he is a superior young man and we intend to obtain if possible first class teachers to assist We have just sent a young man to W H Wygant and hope to send 1 more within a few days to teach in his district We desire to do all that we can to aid in the work of Education & Evangelisation south & feel much obliged for the kind cooperation.

Respectful Jos Dickinson Secy
